INDIANAPOLIS —

Chevrolet will use a new Corvette as this year's pace car for the Brickyard 400.

The Corvette ZO6 will be driven by Hollywood star Ron Howard and will top out at 198 mph. Camaros will be used as pace cars for this weekend's other races in Indianapolis - for the Grand Am and Nationwide Series. Those cars will have top speeds of 184 mph and 155 mph.

Chevy also unveiled the Camaro that will make its Nationwide debut next year.

Company officials say they have been developing the new car for 2 1/2 to 3 years and expect it to be competitive immediately. The Camaro will make its first Nationwide Series appearance Feb. 23 at Daytona.
