JAKARTA, Indonesia —

Robbie Keane scored in the first half to help the Los Angeles Galaxy beat an Indonesian all-star team 1-0 on Wednesday night in the MLS champions' first game on its Asian tour.

Keane took a short pass from Adam Cristman inside the area and slotted a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net in the 14th minute.

David Beckham and Landon Donovan both started for the Galaxy in front of about 30,000 spectators at 80,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

"They're very quick and know how to play the game," Beckham said.

The English star brought down Indonesian striker Andik Vermansyah while going for the ball early in the match, then apologized after the game by swapping jerseys.

"I'm going to frame this!" Vermansyah said. "It was an honor to play with him."

The Galaxy will play the Philippines national team in Manila on Dec. 3, and Australian club Melbourne Victory three days later.
