Jones' 23rd homer helps Rainiers win
TACOMA — Adam Jones went 3 for 4 with his 23rd home run as Tacoma beat Fresno 10-9 on Sunday before a Cheney Stadium crowd of 5,818.
Jones, a 22-year-old center fielder, has four home runs and seven runs batted in over his past five Pacific Coast League games.
Wladimir Balentien hit his 21st homer, a two-run shot, to give the Rainiers (42-53) a 7-6 lead. Sebastien Boucher stroked a two-run single and scored twice for Tacoma.
Reliever Juan Sandoval (1-1) got the victory and Julio Mateo struck out three in 1-1/3 perfect innings for a save.
