Coach: Bob Stoops is 76-16 in his eighth season with the Sooners. Taking over at OU in 1999 after a long career as an assistant at Kent State, Kansas State and Iowa, he led the Sooners to the 2000 national title.

Player to watch: Adrian Peterson, RB. The junior is one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy. He rushed for 139 yards and caught a 69-yard TD pass Saturday.

Last week: Oklahoma scored the final 10 points of the game to stave off a fierce upset bid by UAB and win its opener, 24-17.
