Mouhamed Saer Sene

Position: Center.

Birthplace: Senegal.

Height: 7-0. Weight: 230.

Scouting report: A 20-year-old raw project who picked up the game of basketball four years ago and will need a few years to adjust to the NBA. He's being compared to Dikembe Mutombo and his biggest attribute is a 7-foot-8 wingspan. Said Sonics GM Rick Sund: "He can stand under the basket and reach up and touch the rim without leaving the floor." Sene is being touted as a gifted shot blocker and average rebounder. Offensively, he'll struggle.

Role with Sonics: Sene will likely play more for the Idaho Stampede, Seattle's NBA developmental team, than the Sonics next season. With 20-year-olds Johan Petro and Robert Swift, Seattle has little need for another center and it will be difficult for him to find time in the rotation barring an injury.

Denham Brown

Position: Forward/guard.

College: Connecticut.

Height: 6-6. Weight: 220.

Scouting report: Talented scorer who once tallied more than 100 points in a high-school game. A Toronto native and four-year starter at UConn who averaged 10.7 points his senior season.

Role with Sonics: They envision him as a Richie Frahm type, the free agent in 2003 who played 54 games. Still, that's going to be difficult because the roster is filled.

Yotam Halperin

Position: Guard.

Birthplace: Tel-Aviv, Israel.

Height: 6-5. Weight: 210.

Scouting report: Another project, but this time it's at shooting guard. Played in Slovenia last season, where he averaged 13.9 points in 14 games for his Euroleague team. Also spent time in the Adriatic League, where he averaged 14.5 points in 14 games.

Role with Sonics : He'll remain overseas for at least a year. The Sonics hope to see more improvement from him before bringing him to the United States.
