Hawks Fun Notes: Wistrom's tribute comes up short

Seahawks defensive end Grant Wistrom was seen walking around team headquarters in some very short practice shorts, reminiscent of the NBA of the 1980s. He had changed to more dressy attire for Friday's afternoon news conferences, and opened his session by taking a shot at former teammate Trent Dilfer, who is working for the NFL Network this week.
Asked about the shorts, he spotted the 33-year-old Dilfer in the audience.
"A tribute to Trent when he first came to the league," Wistrom said, "real high shorts."
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck asked Dilfer for a truce before he spoke to reporters Friday, presumably from the back-and-forth verbal jabs the two friends take at each other.
But Hasselbeck broke the peace quickly. Asked about any rituals he has before games, Hasselbeck said the only thing he did differently last week was pick up a hitchhiker named Trent Dilfer.
Shout out to the Northwest
Asked what he would say to the fans around the Northwest who can't be at Qwest Field on Sunday, Hasselbeck said he feels the Seahawks are not just Seattle's team but the region's team.
"Shoot, I think it was Jimmy Johnson ["NFL on Fox" analyst] who said ... we play in south Alaska," Hasselbeck said. "We have the Alaska fan base and we don't technically play there. We have got Oregon. ... We're the Seattle Seahawks, but we're all the Pacific Northwest. If Hawaii doesn't have anybody that they root for, we would love to have Hawaii, too."
