FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Lee Nguyen scored his 11th and 12th goals of the season to give the New England Revolution a 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night.

New England (11-12-3) took its first lead three minutes after halftime. An unmarked Nguyen settled a cross at the top of the box and bent a shot past goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum. Nguyen added another goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time after forcing a defensive turnover.

Kansas City (12-9-6), second in the Eastern Conference, lost its third consecutive game. Sporting’s goal came in the ninth minute on Soony Saad’s header.

New England evened it at 1-1 right before halftime as Teal Bunbury blasted a shot past Gruenebaum.

U.S. international player Jermaine Jones made his first MLS start for New England.

CHESTER, Pa. — Conor Casey scored early in the second half to help the Philadelphia Union beat 10-man Toronto FC 1-0, spoiling Greg Vanney’s debut as coach.

Casey sent home Sebastien Le Toux’s cross in the 55th minute for Philadelphia (8-9-9). Two minutes later, Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath saved a close-range attempt by an unmarked Gilberto. MacMath helped Philadelphia earn its first shutout win since mid-March.

Ashtone Morgan of Toronto (9-10-6) received a red card in the 77th minute for pulling down Le Toux on a breakaway. Le Toux’s free kick from just outside the box was blocked by goalkeeper Joe Bendik.
