Bobby Howe has been a fixture Northwest soccer community since he joined the Sounders in 1977 to be a player/coach with the North American Soccer League club.
With the Sounders, he helped the club reach two NASL title matches in 1977 and 1982.
Prior to his move to Seattle, he played professionally in the English First Division from 1966-71 with West Ham United and later two seasons with AFC Bournemouth.
After retiring as a player in 1983, Howe stayed in coaching in England and the U.S., including stints with the USL Portland Timbers as well as the U-17 and U-20 U.S. National Teams.
Currently, he is the coaching director for Emerald City FC, a select soccer club in Seattle that began in 1979.
