Less than a year after leading the NCAA in scoring (20 goals) at the University of Akron during his sophomore season, Steve Zakuani became the No. 1 overall pick of Seattle Sounders FC in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.
Over the next 2 1/2 seasons, he became one of the most dangerous midfielders in the league, registering 16 goals and 12 assists.
However, on April 22, 2011, Zakuani suffered a fractured right tibia and fibula in a game at Colorado that threatened his blossoming career.
Through much hard work and determination, he returned to action on July 7, 2012, against Colorado and made his first MLS start in more than 16 months on Sept. 2.
Zakuani will be available to talk about his soccer career, his amazing comeback from injury and much more in a live chat Thursday at 1 p.m.
