The defending MLS champion Galaxy (10-10-3), playing without superstars Landon Donovan and David Beckham, extended its unbeaten streak to 4-0-1.
Donovan sat out after he was suspended for the first time in his MLS career for yellow-card accumulation and former England captain Beckham had not rejoined the team after participating in the opening ceremony at the London Olympics on Friday.
