Sounders Women earn 4-0 victory over Santa Clarita
Sounders dominate in final game of season for Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux and Megan Rapinoe, who will prepare for the London Olympics with the U.S. women's national team.

TUKWILA — A sold-out crowd of 4,500 saw the Sounders Women roll to a 4-0 shutout of the Santa Clarita Blue Heat in a USL W-League game at Starfire Sports Complex on Sunday.
The match was the last for U.S. national-team members Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux and Megan Rapinoe as Sounders in 2012 as they'll now prepare for the London Olympics.
Leroux scored two goals (57th and 63rd minutes), and Morgan had a goal and an assist. Veronica Perez scored the first goal and Rapinoe had two assists.
The Sounders outshot the Blue Heat 22-5. Solo, playing 81 minutes in goal, made one save, as did backup Kate Hultin.
The Sounders (6-1-1) lead the Colorado Rush by three points for second place in the Western Conference.

• Clair Markey, who played for Seattle University from 1954 to '58 and later coached high school and college basketball, died June 20 in Juneau, Alaska. He played on the 1957-58 Seattle U team that lost to Kentucky in the national championship. He served as Seattle U interim coach in 1963 and coached state-championship teams at three Alaska high schools.
