Joshua Mayers' MLS power rankings
Rankings run each Wednesday during the regular season.
Team (prev.) Comment
L.A. Galaxy (2) RSL's goal drought allows Bruce Arena's side to jump to No. 1 amid more Beckham drama.
Real Salt Lake (1) Offense rebuilding without Morales, but defense has allowed just two goals all season.
N.Y. Red Bulls (3) Had a league-high five players called into action for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Philadelphia (6) It's never pretty, but the wins keep coming, this time on a wonder goal from Carlos Ruiz.
FC Dallas (5) Haven't allowed a goal in 399 minutes, which is 16 short of the team record.
Colorado (4) The return of forward Conor Casey is a big boost for a team that's tied three-straight games.
Portland (7) The magic at Jeld-Wen Field continues, but 5-0 home record helped by a non-offsides call.
Sounders FC (8) The week's opponents, FCD and RSL, have combined to allow one goal in the month of May.
Houston (10) Winless in four games and also faces a tough two-game week against L.A. and Dallas.
Columbus (9) Have gone 10 games without scoring in the first half, setting an MLS mark to start the year.
San Jose (14) Back-to-back wins were huge, but losing Wondolowski to the USMNT will be tough.
D.C. United (12) Got a week off, but three of the next four are on the road, starting in Portland.
Chivas USA (11) Like Dallas and Seattle, avoided any Gold Cup call ups. Will they be able to take advantage?
Toronto FC (15) Ex-Sounder Nathan Sturgis helped secure a crucial road point in Colorado last weekend.
New England (13) Also hit hard by Gold Cup call ups, losing star midfielders Joseph and Feilhaber.
Sporting K.C. (16) Coach Vermes praised the effort in Seattle, but unfortunately it was a fifth-straight loss.
Chicago (17) Play San Jose twice this week: first in a U.S. Open Cup play-in, then in a league match.
Vancouver (18) MLS winless streak at 10 games, but could still win the Nutrilite Canadian Championship.
