Live chat with Sounders FC commentator Alan Hinton
Latest from the Sounders FC blog
A fixture on the Seattle-area soccer scene for the past 30 years, Alan Hinton is in his second season as a broadcaster for Seattle Sounders FC.
He enjoyed an exceptional playing career in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Nottingham Forest and Derby County (where he won two league championships) and later in the North American Soccer League with the Dallas Tornado and Vancouver Whitecaps.
After retiring, Hinton went into coaching and had successful stints with the original Sounders of the NASL and Tacoma Stars of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
In 1980, he was named the NASL's coach of the year after guiding the Sounders to a 25-7 record, the best season in league history.
Hinton will be available to talk about the World Cup final, the second half of the MLS season and more in a live chat Thursday at noon on seattletimes.com
