Concerts provide variety of music

The Everett Symphony Orchestra's year is divided into four classical concerts, two pops concerts, two chamber concerts and touring Explore Music educational programs.

Special holiday events include the Fourth of July at Naval Station Everett, "The Messiah," "The Nutcracker" and "The Night Before New Year's Eve."

Preconcert talks with conductor Paul-Elliott Cobbs are held an hour before each classical concert in the Everett High School cafeteria above the Everett Civic Auditorium. A reception follows every concert at the same location.

Single tickets range from $12-$36; season tickets include sampler series, classical series and premier series, and range from $32 to $262. For more information, call 425-258-1605 or go to www.everettsymphony.org.

Oct. 5

"October Romance" classical concert with guest violinist Angela Fuller at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave.

Oct. 19

Brandenburg Concertos I-III chamber concert at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Nov. 16

"Northern Lights: Uff Da" pops concert of Scandinavian music at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

Dec. 8-9

"The Nutcracker" with Olympic Ballet at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

Dec. 16

"The Messiah" singalong concert at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.

Dec. 30

"The Night Before New Year's Eve," featuring narrator Tony Ventrella, at 6:30 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.

Jan. 25, 2008

"An Evening in Paris" classical concert with the Everett Chorale at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

Feb. 22

Brandenburg Concertos IV-VI chamber concert at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church.

March 14

"German Masters" classical concert with guest pianist Alexander Ardakov and guest conductor Mark Andrew James at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

April 18

"A Tribute to Burt Bacharach" pops concert with vocalist Nadine Shanti at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

May 30

"Celestial Voyage" classical concert, featuring Kevin Pih on tuba and Murl Allen Sanders on accordion, at 8 p.m. at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

July 4

Fourth of July concert at Naval Station Everett.
