Lu Edwards says she first thought it was a tarantula toy. She asked an expert at the University of Washington Burke Museum to look at it, and arachnid curator Rod Crawford says it looks like what's known as a "wandering spider." He says it's venomous, but not deadly. Edwards contacted Costco where she bought the bananas. She says the store told her spiders sometimes arrive in banana shipments. Costco offered to credit her purchase. Copyright © The Seattle Times Company
