Cervante Burrell scored 19 points to help Seattle University beat Pepperdine 81-70 Thursday night at KeyArena.

Burrell hit 8 of 8 free throws in the final 1:35 to hold off the Waves as Seattle U (9-14) won its third consecutive game and sixth of its past eight.

"We shot the ball well in the first half to give us the lead," Redhawks coach Cameron Dollar said. "Although we did not shoot it as well in the second half, our defense still played tough and allowed our offense to get back in rhythm late in the game."

Corbin Moore scored a career-high 20 points to lead Pepperdine (8-18), which has lost five straight and 13 of 14.

Seattle U took control of the game midway through the second half when the Waves went scoreless for nearly 10 minutes.

The Redhawks will try to extend their win streak in a 7:10 p.m. game Monday against UC Davis at KeyArena.
