FRESNO, Calif. — The Seattle University women's basketball team fell victim to the three-point shot, as Fresno State made 15 three-pointers on its way to a 71-61 victory Wednesday afternoon.

Fresno State's Rosie Moult scored a career-high 27 points and broke a school record with nine three-pointers on 12 attempts. Taylor Thompson had 13 points and seven rebounds.

Kacie Sowell had her fourth double-double in the last five games and her seventh double-double of the season, leading the Redhawks (10-7) with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 13 rebounds.

Ashley Ward had 15 points, four assists and three steals.

Fresno State (12-4), averaging 9.5 three-pointers — third-most in Division I — was 15 of 35.

Fresno used a 13-0 run to go ahead 27-15 with 11:12 left in the first half.

Ward made a three-pointer to start a 14-1 Redhawk run over the next eight minutes, taking advantage of five Bulldogs turnovers for a 29-28 lead. But Fresno State went 4 for 4 from the line, and Moult made another three-pointer for a 35-31 halftime lead.

Moult helped the Bulldogs take a 43-33 lead. The Redhawks got five behind but Fresno State went on a 20-6 run — 18 on three-pointers — for a 66-47 lead.
