Seattle U's rally falls short against Utah Valley
Seattle University rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to take a few leads in the second half, but couldn't come up with enough plays late in a 77-72 loss to Utah Valley on Saturday night.
OREM, Utah — Seattle University rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to take a few leads in the second half, but couldn't come up with enough plays late in a 77-72 loss to Utah Valley on Saturday night.
Seattle, which trailed by as many as 17 in the first half, led three times in the second half, the last time with 3:40 remaining when Cervante Burrell made a pair of free throws to give Seattle a 68-67 edge.
The score was tied at 70 with 2:43 remaining after Burrell hit a jumper. But Utah Valley ended the game on a 7-2 run.
Eric Wallace led Seattle U (3-10) with 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting and Aaron Broussard had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Seattle U plays next on Tuesday at Washington.
