LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Seattle University women's basketball team fell to 6-6 on the season with a 72-63 loss at Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday.
Kacie Sowell shot 7 of 8 from the field and made both her free throw attempts as she led the Redhawks with 16 points. Talisa Rhea added 13 points and five assists.
Despite shooting 48.1 percent from the field and doubling the Trojans' rebounding total (42-21), Seattle U hurt itself with 21 turnovers. UALR had only nine turnovers.
Taylor Gault led all players with 25 points and three blocked shots for UALR (4-8).
Seattle U closed the gap to four points midway through the second half, but Trojan runs of 8-2 and 8-1 allowed the home team to cruise to the victory.
Marian Kursh collected 14 points and eight rebounds and Taylor Ford contributed 14 points and six assists for UALR. Kursh and Ford combined for back-to-back three point plays with 12:33 left in the first half, helping their team take the lead for good against the Redhawks.
