FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Seattle University women's basketball team capped off its season with an 87-66 win Sunday over Longwood in the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.

The Redhawks fell behind 9-2 early, then scored 19 straight points to take control and never trailed again.

"I thought this was a great way to end the season," said Seattle U. coach Joan Bonvicini. "It was a great team victory and the thing I am most proud of is the team played really hard. This was our third game in three days and I thought our seniors played really well to conclude their careers."

Junior Elle Kerfoot scored 25 to lead the Redhawks, her 14th straight game in double-figure scoring. Senior Salena Dickerson added 22 points.

"Elle is just a baller," Bonvincini said. "She really has been consistent getting her game to another level."

Seattle U. pulled away in the second half after leading 44-39 at halftime.

Longwood fell to 7-23.
