Idaho hands Seattle University 78-69 loss

MOSCOW, Idaho — Deremy Geiger scored 15 points to lead Idaho to a 78-69 victory over Seattle University on Saturday night.
Senior Shawn Henderson had 13 points and Stephen Madison had a career-high 12 points as Idaho (18-12) closed out its home schedule against a nonconference opponent.
The Vandals made 11 of their 25 three-point attempts, and Henderson's three with 15:35 to go gave them their first lead of the game at 51-48.
The Redhawks led 24-12 midway through the first half, but Idaho pulled to 40-37 by halftime.
Seattle (11-19) was led by Sterling Carter, who scored all 18 of his points in the first half. Alex Jones scored 15 points and had five assists for the Redhawks.
The Vandals had a season-high 23 assists and Kyle Barone grabbed 10 rebounds. Both teams shot 53 percent from the floor.
Seattle U. women fall in Florida
FORT MYERS, Fla. — After battling back late, the Seattle University women's basketball team dropped a 54-50 game to Southern Illinois Edwardsville in the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.
"This was a tough one and it was definitely a game of runs," said Seattle U. coach Joan Bonvicini. "In the first half, we did a good job of getting to the free-throw line, but we never were able to establish a post presence."
Elle Kerfoot had 15 points for the Redhawks (7-22). Daidra Brown and Salena Dickerson each had 10 points and six rebounds.
The Cougars (11-17) were led by Raven Berry's 16 points.
Seattle U. will conclude its season at 11 a.m. (PST) on Sunday against Longwood.
