Newsroom family
Sketched Aug. 3, 2012
My friend and colleague David was laid off from The Seattle Times a couple of weeks ago. Before he left, I sketched him while I was leaning over his cubicle wall, which is the point of view I usually had of him. Every time I go by his empty desk now I'm reminded of the shaky state of the newspaper industry, and of how much the people I work with are not just co-workers, but "newsroom family."
