Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had this to say about Rice: "He's got a sore foot. He's got a bruised foot that we didn't know about until after the weekend. He's in a boot today and we'll see what happens."
So is he in doubt for Sunday's game?
"Well right now, because he's still in a boot, yes," Carroll said. "He is until we can see him get out there. He's improved quite a bit since game day, in the last couple days, but he's got a pretty sore foot, so we don't know. He's got the X-rays and MRIs and all of that, and the findings are nothing that would keep him from playing. He just has to get back; he feels very sore right now."
What happened? Did he hurt it at the end of the game?
"He doesn't even know when it happened; he didn't know," the coach explained. "He's had a sore toe all season, and he originally thought that it was just that. He kind of misinterpreted the signs, and then Monday morning he woke up with a pretty sore foot and couldn't move around very well. So we didn't even know it was coming."
What changes would be made if Rice can't go?
"We'll roll all of our guys through it," Carroll said. "Charly (Martin) steps up right now and will jump into the mix, and we'll just move our guys around for plays and situations and things like that. We do that anyway, but a little bit more so."
Is Trufant a possibility for this week?
"I don't know. He's not practicing today. He's still getting back from it. It's not quite right."
Not much was known about Thurmond's injury, as it wasn't mentioned in Carroll's news conference before practice.
