Matt Flynn: 'No regrets'
Flynn has spent the year as Seattle's back-up quarterback, and on Thursday he was asked about both his decision to sign with Seattle and his feelings about this season.
Q: How hard was that decision this offseason? Because the Dolphins were the other team you visited.
Flynn: "I kind of took it openly. I wouldn't say it was hard, but I wouldn't say it was easy. I kind of took it with an open mind. I didn't want to lean one way or the other before I looked into it. I just wanted to get my feel for what I thought would be the best spot."
Q: How do you feel about the decision now with everything that's transpired?
Flynn: "I try to have the motto of live life with no regrets. I wouldn't take anything back. I look back at the things that I looked at and the personal things that I decided on, and I wouldn't take anything back. I don't have any regrets about it, but it was a tough decision for sure."
Q: How tough has it been going through this season? Obviously, your expectations were different coming into the year.
Flynn: "It has been extremely tough, definitely. But I've tried to take in every day and try to better myself as a player, better myself as a quarterback and try to improve on the things I can improve. That's really the only way you can take it, and just try to be the best teammate you can be, try to, like I said, better myself in the ways that I can, that are possible."
Q: There's probably no delicate way to ask this, but did everything that was laid out for you by Seattle come true? Was there any sort of bait-and-switch?
Flynn: No, they told me I would be coming in and competing.
