Ranking the rookies: Russell Wilson and 2012 QB class

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has the fewest passing yards of any of the five rookie starting quarterbacks in this league, but the most touchdown passes. He has the fewest pass attempts, but is tied for the most victories.

Those paradoxes illustrate why it is so hard to compare Wilson's season agains the other four rookies who began this season as their team's starting quarterback.

It's not just that Wilson isn't being asked to do as much as Andrew Luck in Indianapolis or Robert Griffin III in Washington; Wilson is not being allowed to do as much. He is cast in a different role for Seattle, one with less freedom and a smaller margin fo error.
