The Seahawks have another week to activate Thurmond, the deadline coming next Monday.

It was originally thought the deadline was Nov. 5 (meaning that reporter Danny O'Neil originally thought that). Turns out that was wrr, um, wrrrrrroooooooo, um, mistaken.

According to the league guidelines, a team has 21 days after a player on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list begins practicing to activate him. Thurmond did not actually begin practicing the first week he was eligible to as that was the shortened week before the 49ers game. His first practice was Oct. 22, meaning Seattle has until next Monday to activate Thurmond, who is recovering after suffering a broken fibula twice in the span of six months.

As for Wright and guard James Carpenter, both are being evaluated according to the league's protocol for players who are diagnosed with a concussion. It's unlikely either will be practicing fully on Wednesday.

As for Seattle's depth at linebacker?

"We're calling on some guys to step up because it gets kind of thin quick," Carroll said.

Wright is not only the starting strongside linebacker, but he's the backup middle linebacker to Bobby Wagner.

Mike Morgan came in to replace Wright, playing most of the game.

"Mike Morgan did an adequate job in the game," Carroll said. "He got a couple of times on some things and got out of position a little bit, but Mike played pretty well and he maintained his snaps on special teams, too."

Malcolm Smith and Heath Farwell are Seattle's other two reserve linebackers.

"We'll keep our fingers crossed on K.J.," Carroll said.

Carroll said that defensive tackle Jason Jones very well may return after missing the past two games with a sprained ankle.

"He seems to be in pretty good shape," Carroll said.

Receiver Braylon Edwards also is expected to return after missing the past two games.
