Putting a microscope on Seahawks' third-down struggles

Seahawks defense suffering third-degree burns
By Danny O'Neil | The Seattle Times

It wouldn't be wrong to say Seattle's defense has struggled on third down, but it wouldn't be entirely accurate, either. Seattle is actually better than average on third-and-short when the opponent needs one to three yards. It's when the opponent needs 10 yards or more the Seahawks are at their worst:

 3rd-and-short
(1-3 yards)
3rd-and-medium
(4-6 yards)
3rd-and-longer
(7-9 yards)

3rd-and-10 or more
