That's some serious uncertainty at wide receiver, which means the Seahawks might be making changes to the 53-man roster.

"We have to consider it because there's a little bit of uncertainty right there," coach Pete Carroll said Monday. "We're looking at our options here."

Obomanu and fullback Michael Robinson each saw a specialist after suffering wrist injuries in Sunday's game, and Carroll did not have an update on either.

Baldwin was able to run late last week after suffering a high ankle sprain during a special-teams play in the first half during Seattle's loss in San Francisco last Thursday, and while he hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against Minnesota, it doesn't sound like the Seahawks expect him to be ready.

"It's going to be a longshot for him to make it back," Carroll said. "He's trying. He did run last week. He ran at the end of the week. We'll just see if he can tolerate it."

Edwards' knee was being examined Monday after he suffered unexpected swelling in Detroit, which forced him to miss the game. The Seahawks planned for Edwards to split time with Golden Tate at split end in the game, but when Edwards woke up Sunday, his knee had become an issue.

"For whatever reason, it just popped up," Carroll said. "I don't know what it was. He doesn't either. He just woke up in the morning, his knee was stiff and he had some swelling he didn't have the day before. So there was no way to anticipate it."

Carroll did not indicate the injury was projected as potentially season-ending.

"The initial look at it is that he doesn't have any damage to his knee," Carroll said. "He has a knee that's worn on and so it responded for whatever reason to this trip or something, and we'll see what that means."

It's unlikely Edwards will practice until later in the week, said Carroll, to avoid aggravating the situation, and there will be a little bit of uncertainty all the way up until the game.

"We anticipate that he will be OK," Carroll said, "but we thought that last week so it's a little bit iffy right now."

While Terrell Owens name will inevitably be mentioned with the possibility of adding a wide receiver, he played flanker for the team during his three weeks with the team in August, and the spot Seattle would be looking at is split end and perhaps slot. Jermaine Kearse has played well on the practice squad and could be a consideration.
