Marshawn Lynch to be limited in Wednesday's practice for Seahawks
Lynch sat out the final two exhibition games, continuing to rest and rehabilitate. Coach Pete Carroll said Lynch had not suffered a new injury or incident with regard to his back, but could not give a definitive prognosis on Lynch's availability this week.
"We'll have to take him day by day," Carroll said, "and see how he responds to the work, and we really won't know until the end of the week unless something changes. The process that he's gone through, he is aerobically in good shape. We need to get him back his football legs and get him enough reps to do that. He'll go real light today, and he'll continue to progress as we go through the week. We'll just have to wait and see.
"I can't call it for you now."
Lynch answered questions in the locker room before practice, and was asked if he expects to play Sunday.
"The goal is to," Lynch said. "But I stay ready. If I do, I do, and if I don't, I don't."
In other news, Carroll said rookie J.R. Sweezy will start at right guard for the Seahawks ahead of John Moffitt. Receiver Golden Tate is not expected to practice Wednesday afternoon, but is expected to run on hard ground on Thursday for the first time since spraining his knee last week in the exhibition finale.
