Did tight end Anthony McCoy out at you on Friday night?

Because he certainly jumped over someone.

The 6-foot-5 McCoy hurdled a Chief attempting to tackle him and ran 25 yards downfield, the longest play of Seattle's second touchdown drive of the first half.

It was one of McCoy's two catches in the game for 47 yards, and don't look now, but after three exhibition games, the third-year tight end out of USC leads Seattle in receiving yards. Yes. That's right. First on the team in receiving yards with 86 while receiver Braylon Edwards ranks second with 83.

That's not an insignificant thing because over his first two years in Seattle, McCoy had penchant for letting opportunities -- not to mention the ball - slip through his fingers.

He had a penalty in the second quarter on Friday, but he's also developed a bit of a rapport with Wilson with a nice catch over the middle in each of the past two games. In Denver last week, he made a diving grab over the middle on third-and-17, holding onto the ball for a 26-yard gain despite taking a pretty stiff shot. On Friday in Kansas City, he had another couple of grabs from Wilson.

McCoy is a well-rounded tight end off to a great start to his third season. He's not quite the blocker that Zach Miller is, and not the receiving threat that Kellen Winslow, but he's proven to be a pretty effective combination so far this exhibition season.
