Matt Flynn will not play Friday in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY -- We already knew Matt Flynn wasn't going to start Friday's exhibition game for the Seahawks.

Now, he won't play at all against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Flynn sat out of practice on Wednesday with a sore elbow, and when he came out on the field to warm up on Friday, he still experienced pain in his elbow.

When the rest of Seattle's quarterbacks took the field in uniform to warm up an hour before the game, Flynn was watching in sweats and a white baseball cap. Russell Wilson, Tarvaris Jackson and Josh Portis were all in uniform, warming up at the time.

Flynn did not practice Wednesday, coach Pete Carroll citing a tired arm. He indicated it was nothing serious.

However, Carroll also declined to specify the playing time allotment for the exhibition game after announcing that Wilson would start the game.

Flynn was not among the 13 players Seattle listed as being unlikely to play before the game, but there is not formal inactive list for exhibition games like there is for regular-season games.
