Sidney Rice full go, Doug Baldwin sits out
RENTON -- This wasn't the first time Sidney Rice practiced this training camp. The Seahawks' No. 1 receiver has been on the field since training camp began.
But on Tuesday, Rice practiced without any limitations for the first time.
"It was the first time he has had a full-blown day where we've cut him loose and let him do everything," coach Pete Carroll said.
He even took a hit as safety Earl Thomas knocked Rice off his feet after making a reception over the middle. Now, it wasn't a full-speed collision, but it was contact, and Rice got right back up.
"He got banged around," Carroll said, "which was great. He made some good catches today. He looked very fast out there, and it's exciting to see. This was the first day that I really feel like, 'OK, he's in it now.' "
Carroll stopped short of saying Rice would play in Friday's exhibition game at Kansas City, though.
"We'll see," Carroll said. "I don't know that right now."
Doug Baldwin returned to practice last week after missing more than a week with a hamstring injury. Now, he's out again after having work done on his hamstring. Baldwin will not play Friday in Kansas City.
"He had a little procedure done to clear up his hamstring that was very successful," Carroll said. "He'll be back in it next week for sure. Whether we play him next week or not -- I don't know that yet -- but he should be practicing full go and we'll return next week."
Center Max Unger sat out Tuesday's practice with a sore calf, but Carroll did not characterize the injury as serious. Fullback Michael Robinson did not practice because of a toe injury, which kept him out of Saturday's exhibition game while running back Marshawn Lynch sat out with a tight lower back.
Others not practicing: DT Jason Jones, TE Cameron Morrah (toe), CB Coye Francies (head), Pep Levingston (knee), LB Matt McCoy (knee), CB Roy Lewis (unspecified), LB Allen Bradford (hip), G John Moffitt (elbow), CB Ron Parker (knee).
