Seahawks trade LB Barrett Ruud to Saints

Seahawks trade LB Barrett Ruud
New Orleans Saints

The Seattle Seahawks have traded linebacker Barrett Ruud to the New Orleans Saints for an undisclosed draft choice.

The trade was announced by the Saints, who suffered injuries to linebackers Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne in the previous week. Hawthorne, a former Seahawk, underwent knee surgery to repair a damaged meniscus. Ruud is a veteran signed by Seattle this offseason after Hawthorne left in free agency.

The fact Seattle traded him reflects the Seahawks' happiness with Bobby Wagner, the linebacker they drafted in the second round.
