Game thread: Titans at Seahawks

Matt Hasselbeck was intercepted on two his three possessions under center for the Titans before being replaced by Jake Locker with in the third minute of the second quarter.

Free safety Earl Thomas has played a role on both of Seattle's interceptions. He dove on top of Titans receiver Nate Washington on Hasselbeck's first pass of the game. The ball bounced up, was intercepted by cornerback Brandon Browner, who returned it 23 yards for a touchdown.

Thomas was providing help to cornerback Richard Sherman over the top on the Seahawks' second interception, though to be fair, that pick came on a third-and-14 play in which Hasselbeck threw a deep lob to Damian Williams that doubled as a punt. Sherman intercepted the ball at the Seattle 6.

Matt Flynn completed his first eight pass attempts of the game as Seattle's quarterback. Well, actually, he completed his first nine pass attempts. Problem was that ninth throw was completed to the Titans' linebacker Colin McCarthy for an interception.

Seattle held a time-of-possession advantage of 9:17 to 5:43 in the first quarter despite the fact Seattle had one possession in that first quarter while the Titans had three.

Seattle's first-unit defense left the game after the first quarter.

The Seahawks' first drive produced 58 yards of offense, five first downs and took 9:17. Their next three possessions totaled 41 yards, three first downs and took 6:54.

The Titans scored their first points of the game in the final minute of the first half after an 11-play, 79-yard drive led by Locker. Locker completed four consecutive passes for 45 yards during the critical part of that drive, bought time with his feet and had the Titans' offense moving for the first time in the half. Rob Bironas' 32-yard field goal made the score 10-3.

Not to be outdone, Russell Wilson completed his first three passes after entering the game in the second half, highlighted by a 39-yard deep ball to Braylon Edwards for a touchdown.

J.R. Sweezy played a series at right guard with the first-unit offensive line in the first half, and he started the second half at left guard.

Wilson had 71 yards passing on his first four completions, which was as many yards as Flynn totaled on his 11 completions in the first half.
