Charges filed against Marshawn Lynch

DUI charges have been filed against Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch by the Alameda County District Attorney.

Lynch was arrested on Saturday by California Highway Patrol, which completed its investigation and forwarded it to county's district attorney.

Lynch's court date is scheduled for Aug. 14.

Ivan Golde is the attorney representing Lynch. He said Lynch will plead not guilty and waive his right to a speedy trail. Golde said that Lynch's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.08 percent during the preliminary breath test that was administered 15 minutes after he was pulled over. That is right at the legal limit.

Lynch's BAC was measured at 0.10 after he was arrested, according to Golde. Golde said he will argue the fact Lynch's blood-alcohol content was rising after the arrest points to the fact it was not above the legal limit while he was driving.

Update, 3:43 p.m.: It's also important to note the timetable Golde outlined. He does not expect the case to be adjudicated at any point before the 2012 season ends.
