RB Michael Bush headed to Bears

Running back Michael Bush is headed to the Chicago Bears, according to a report from ProFootballTalk.com.

Bush is a big bruiser of a running back from Oakland, who had previously played under Tom Cable with the Raiders. Cable is now Seattle's offensive line coach.

Bush previously visited Cincinnati and the Seahawks had been trying to arrange a free-agent visit.

The deal is four years, $14 million. It is the largest contract given to a running back in free agency, which gives a pretty good idea of just how depressed the free-agent market has been for running backs.

Seattle had sought a bigger running back to complement Marshawn Lynch, and had also thought to have been interested in Mike Tolbert of San Diego, who wound up going to Carolina. The fact that neither Bush nor Tolbert signed sizeable deals gives an indication of the budget Seattle was looking at for that spot after signing Marshawn Lynch to a four-year contract with nearly $20 million guaranteed.
