Jarriel King from DE to LT to LG?

Posted by Danny O'Neil

RENTON -- Jarriel King is one of four players the Seahawks claimed off waivers the week before the regular season began. Only two remain: kicker Steven Hauschka and King, who has gone from playing offensive tackle to playing guard.

That position switch is nothing compared to the one King made when he went from Georgia Military junior college, where he was a defensive end, to South Carolina where he played left tackle under coach Steve Spurrier.

"Defense, that's my nature," King said. "But I'm gifted enough to play offense so I make it work for me."

That means King is only three years deep into playing offensive line, and the fact Seattle kept him while releasing Tyler Polumbus a few weeks back shows the promise the team sees in him whether it's as guard -- where he's playing now -- or potentially a move back to tackle.
