Tarvaris Jackson limited in practice
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Jackson didn't practice all that much, as he was limited as coach Pete Carroll indicated. Jackson isn't expected to really test his strained pectoral muscle by throwing until Friday, and ultimately, his availability will be determined on how he feels.
"The injury is something that there's really not a lot of background on," said Darrell Bevell of Jackson's status. "We have to go by how he can feel and how he feels like he can perform. There's a certain level that you have to be able to meet obviously so he'll have to tell us how close he is to that."
The risk of reinjuring a strained muscle is very real, and the Seahawks are going to have to rely upon the training staff to provide guidance.
"That's why we have those great doctors and medical staff in there to be able to tell us that," Bevell said. "Even to tell T-Jack that, how far you can push it, how far you can take it. And I really think on this case they're going off a lot on what T-Jack is telling them because there's not a long history with quarterbacks that are trying to play with this specific injury. I think they're kind of playing off each other. Our staff wouldn't put him in harm's way, but all those guys in there are very competitive guys. They want to be out there. They want to help the team so they're going to be pushing it as well."
