Report: Clinton Portis to visit Seahawks
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Everyone should take a deep breath right now, before wondering why Seattle would be interested in an older running back. Exhale. It's very consistent with Seattle's approach to take a look at players -- even veterans -- and see if there's value to be had.
A visit doesn't mean a signing is imminent, but obviously there's enough interest to take a look at a back who has missed 19 of 32 regular-season games over the past two years with Washington.
Portis, 29, was one of the most productive backs in the league from 2002 through 2008, rushing for more than 1,200 yards in six of his first seven seasons in the league.
He has played only 13 games in the previous two seasons combined, however.
