John Schneider hangs "For Sale" sign around No. 25 pick
Posted by Danny O'Neil
On Monday, Peter King of CNNSI.com stated that Seahawks GM John Schneider wanted to move down in the draft order so much he could taste it.
Well, Schneider didn't describe exactly what that tastes like, but he sounded very much like someone who not only wouldn't mind trading down to accumulate more picks in the middle rounds of the draft, but would actually prefer that.
"Personally, I'd like to move back," he said. "Because I have confidence in our ability in those middle rounds to do some good stuff, and have a coaching staff that a) they're good teachers and b) they're excited to have these guys."
But wanting to move down in the draft order is one thing. Finding a trading partner willing to give up later-round picks to move up is another thing.
"It's actually easier to go up than it is to go back," Schneider said. "I think there's a number of teams that would like to back right now."
