Seahawks release TE Chris Baker, QB Nate Davis

The Seahawks released tight end Chris Baker and quarterback Nate Davis on Thursday.

Baker, 31, was signed as a free agent by Seattle last year, primarily to serve as a blocking tight end. played in all 16 regular-season games for the Seahawks, starting 13. He caught nine passes, and suffered a fractured hip in the regular-season finale against St. Louis, which ended his season.

Baker was one of four tight ends on Seattle's roster. He was also the oldest with John Carlson, Cameron Morrah and Anthony McCoy still on the team.

Davis, a former draft pick of San Francisco, was signed a contract for the 2011 season back in January. He was released before the 2011 league year began.
