Deon Butler to go on injured reserve
Posted by Danny O'Neil
RENTON -- Deon Butler suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg, and underwent surgery on Sunday night in the Bay Area, according to coach Pete Carroll.
A rod was inserted into Butler's leg to stabilize his leg. It was not a compound fracture.
Butler suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game and was carted off the field. He will be placed on injured reserve and will not play again this season. He is expected to return to Seattle later this week.
• Carroll did say Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu are expected to practice this week. Both were inactive for Sunday's game, Williams because of a sprained right ankle and Obomanu a laceration on his right hand.
"Both those guys will practice this week," Carroll said. "Ben, we'll take care of as long as we can as far as not hitting his hand, but he'll be out running around. Mike is going to start up Wednesday and be ready to go."
