Everything just fine for Mike Gibson
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Remember when Mike Gibson was penalized 15 yards for a personal foul during Sunday's victory over the Cardinals.
Well, his teammates certainly did.
A letter was drafted up and given to Gibson, stating he had been fined $25,000 for his infraction in Sunday's game.
That infraction? Lifting Darnell Dockett's foot up off his chest after Dockett was stepping on him.
Player paranoia is running high about fines from the league, making for a ripe target. The letter was even featured a signature.
Gibson couldn't believe the fine. Neither could quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who called the NFL Players Association on Gibson's behalf to initiate an appeal.
But before the team took the field for practice Wednesday, the ruse was revealed. It was a practical joke.
