Drawing conclusions: Hasselbeck cameo on "South Park"

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Matt Hasselbeck made a cameo appearance on Wednesday's episode of "South Park."

Or at least his animated Doppelganger did.

It was quick, it was random and it was totally unexpected for Hasselbeck.

"I did not know," he said. "It was quite an honor. Any time a Seahawk is on a national show, it's an honor."

The episode was entitled "Insheeption," a reference to the movie "Inception" and Hasselbeck's appearance came in a reference to a dream occurring inside a dream that's occurring inside Hasselbeck's dream.

"Who's Hasselbeck?" the mother asks.

Enter an animated version of Seattle's quarterback.

"I am," Hasselbeck said.

Well, actually Hasselbeck didn't actually say that. His animated Doppelganger did, but those two words sparked plenty of conversation Thursday.

"It's a very popular show," (actual) Hasselbeck said. "All I've been hearing about today. People have outed themselves, people that I thought were real professional marketing people, finance people. Accounting. Some media people have surprised me."

Does he get royalties?

"I hope so," Hasselbeck said.

Does he have animated aspirations?

"Maybe 'The Simpsons' will call next," he said.
