CB Josh Pinkard practicing for the first time
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Cornerback Josh Pinkard is practicing with the Seahawks Wednesday, the first time he has worked out with the team.
Pinkard is an undrafted free agent from USC who was signed in April as he was coming off knee surgery. He was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list once training camp began. He was not activated before the season began, which meant he moved to the Reserve PUP list. That requires he miss the first six weeks. Now, that Week 7 is underway, he is free to begin practicing with the team. (Note: I was asked about Pinkard's potential activation from PUP during a chat Tuesday, and I said that he had to miss six games, not six weeks. I was
wrong, errrrr incorrect, errrrr mistaken.)
Seattle has a three-week roster exemption for Pinkard so he does not count against Seattle's 53-man limit right now. Pinkard can practice with Seattle for three weeks before it decides whether to activate him.
Pinkard suffered a torn anterior-cruciate ligament last season in a game against Arizona. He underwent surgery in mid-December.
