Report: St. Louis Blues CEO coming to the Seahawks
Posted by Danny O'Neil
The report did not specify what position McLoughlin would be assuming in Seattle.
The obvious vacancy is atop the Seahawks franchise as Tod Leiweke, CEO, already accepted a position as CEO and minority owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
McLoughlin has been with the Blues since 2006 and was in charge of non-hockey operations. He has extensive experience as an Anheuser-Busch executive.
He is 53, and majored in English at Harvard.
Update at 3:41 p.m.: The Seahawks will not be making any announcement Tuesday, however, McLoughlin is expected to be named the Seahawks new CEO as soon as tomorrow.
There have already been several inquiries as to why the Seahawks would again appoint someone without an NFL background to the post of CEO as Leiweke was also hired from the NHL.
The job is not to run a football team per se in terms of personnel or approval, but to run the sports business that is an NFL franchise.
