Chester Pitts perhaps a couple of weeks away
Posted by Danny O'Neil
When training camp opened, coach Pete Carroll said there was no timeline for when offensive lineman Chester Pitts might be ready to play. Could be a couple weeks, in time to play n an exhibition game. Could be more like months, which would indicate he may begin the regular season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, thereby missing the first six games.
Pitts, who underwent microfracture surgery on his knee last year, was doing rehabilitation work on a separate field Thursday, and while Carroll provided no firm timeline, it sounds like he may be ready in weeks, not months.
"Chester in particular has looked really good working out," Carrol said. "I think he's not more than a couple weeks away from really showing something."
Pitts has experience playing both guard and tackle, and he played for Alex Gibbs the past two years with the Houston Texans.
