Seahawks waive DeMarcus Granger, rookie defensive tackle

Well, Seattle almost made it a week without a transaction, but the team announced it waived defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger, who was signed after the draft. Granger was an undrafted free agent from Oklahoma.
Granger is 320 pounds, and he was a potential run plugger to a line that has been considered on the light side at times in the past. However, the selection of defensive end E.J. Wilson and move of Red Bryant to end where he will play the right defensive end spot referred to as the five-technique.
Seattle's starting tackles are Colin Cole and Brandon Mebane. The team also traded for Kevin Vickerson from Tennessee, a 321-pound tackle. The Seahawks also have Craig Terrill at that spot.
