Don't believe the hype: Tod Leiweke not considering Tampa Bay
Posted by Danny O'Neil
A report from Canada stated that Tod Leiweke is a a prime candidate for the Tampa Bay Lightning CEO's job, which is true.
Leiweke, CEO of the Seahawks and Vulcan Sports, would be a prime candidate.
If he were a candidate. He's not even though the TSN report stated, "some believe the job is his and the details are being finalized."
Nope. A Seahawks spokesman stated that the report was not true.
Leiweke previously said that to theSt. Petersburg Times, stating "I'm happy doing what I'm doing."
That hasn't changed. Leiweke is not considering leaving the job he first took in 2003 as Seahawks CEO. In 2007, he was promoted to oversee Vulcan Sports. He currently is in charge of the Seahawks, the Portland Trail Blazers and Vulcan's interest in Sounders FC of the MLS. (Note: This was updated to denote that Vulcan isn't the sole owner of the Sounders FC).
