Pete Carroll on Sam Bradford's pro day: 'He lit it up.'
Posted by Danny O'Neil
Coach Pete Carroll was in Oklahoma on Monday along with a good chunk of the rest of the NFL's power brokers to watch quarterback Sam Bradford's pro-day workout.
Here was Carroll's review, via his Twitter account:
"Sam bradford had a great workout at his pro day ... He lit it up!"-- Pete Carroll via Twitter
Now, Seattle isn't likely to get a chance to pick Bradford without moving up. He's considered the top quarterback available with Notre Dame's Jimmy Clausen regarded as No. 2. Bradford will be a consideration for the top overall selection, held by St. Louis.
There's also a league-wide belief that Mike Shanahan wants a quarterback with his first pick with Washington, which holds the No. 4 overall selection.
If both Bradford and Clausen are still available when the Seahawks are on the clock at No. 6, it would mark the first time since 2000 that a quarterback was not chosen in the top five. In other words, don't get too giddy thinking Bradford might fall.
Update at 3:45 p.m.: Carroll wasn't the only one impressed by Bradford's workout Monday. Gil Brandt, a former league executive, was floored in his account on NFL.com:
"It really was a treat to watch, and I think everyone here was in awe of Bradford's performance. In fact, he put on the best quarterback workout by a draft prospect that I've seen since I watched a private workout Troy Aikman put on for us with the Cowboys in California."
